Sanosuke Sagara - The "canon" pairing for Megumi's romantic life is Sanosuke, because these two can make some pretty big sparks. Their constant banter and teasing can easily be read as affection for each other. There are several times in the anime that Megumi actually seems a little more than fond of Sano, too. After Sano was wounded by Saitoh, Megumi cares for his wounds and is seen watching over him and rubbing the bridge of his nose affectionately while she hopes for him to get better. She also helps him into the dojo to watch Kenshin and Saitoh's duel, and she constantly bandages his knuckles after his fights. Likewise, Sano seems to care a lot about her, and keeps an eye out for her.

Aoshi Shinomori - Another possible pairing for Megumi is Aoshi, possibly because these two have such similar personalities at times. Both are serious, a little dark, broodish, and more mature than other characters. However, there isn't much mention in the anime or manga that Megumi is attracted to him.

Kenshin Himura - While Megumi cares deeply for Kenshin and even loves him, these two aren't exactly meant for each other, and Megumi knows it. When Kenshin leaves for Kyoto, Megumi is upset because he never told her goodbye, and she tells Kaoru later that Kenshin loves Kaoru because he told her goodbye, rather than telling Megumi or anyone else he was leaving.
