As the oldest of the female characters in the anime, Megumi is a mix of light and dark, serious and amusing, womanly and childish. She can be very mature at times - offering advice, helping others, and being a good doctor. And then she can switch and be a child - flirting with Kenshin, making Kaoru mad on purpose, and teasing Sanosuke. However, deep down inside, the scars of her past still sting, and Megumi's cheerful front often masks a serious side.
